Learning Pathways Evening 2014

What will you become?

Over the last few weeks we have gradually increased the amount of Information and Careers guidance to you through the Maximize event, getting your views on subjects you like doing now or might like to try in the future and what the English Baccalaureate
is about.  You also have the Careers Fair at the Norfolk Showground  to attend next week.

The subjects you eventually choose to take will not only open doors for you to pursue your course of study when you attend sixth form or college but I hope will help you take a step nearer to your dreams and ambitions for the exciting life ahead of you.
At the Pathways Evening tonight you will gather more useful information.  Talk to your parents/carers, your teachers and older students who currently do some of the courses you are considering.

Courses will include a range of GCSE or BTEC accredited awards.  Each of these is worth one GCSE grade or equivalent.  External tests or examinations are taken at the end of all courses now.

Students who are strongly considering a route into Higher Education and University should seriously consider the English Baccalaureate. To achieve this you must gain A*- C GCSE grades in English, Maths, Core, Additional Science and Computer Science, French or German plus either Geography or History.

This is a great time for you, collate as much information as you can and talk to your teachers.

I wish you every success in the years to come – some of you will be Engineers, Vets, Doctors, Journalists, Lawyers, Construction Managers, Nurses – whatever it might be, the beginning of that journey starts now!
