TEN Group students join in worldwide Programming Challenge 4 Girls

The message from 50 students from TEN Group academies, following a day of computer coding at the Programming Challenge 4 Girls hosted at City Academy Norwich, was loud and clear: girls can code!

The event on Friday 7th November was organised as part of the international PC4G initiative, which is designed to introduce girls to programming through an activity that does not require previous programming knowledge and which is approachable, fun, challenging and educational.   

Congratulations Dylan, a Camouflaged Learning winner

Having taken part in a series on team and individual technical challenges throughout Year 9 Dylan accumulated the highest number of points. Points were converted to a cash value by Matt Bagley of Camouflaged Learning to provide the winning prize. The winner could then select any object equal to this value.

Results Continue to Improve at WAN

Congratulations to the students of Wayland Academy on their results for 2014. This year we had some exceptional results and some real high flyers.

5 A*- C was 60%

5 A*- C including English and Maths increased to 46%

EBacc was an astounding 35%

3 Levels of Progress

Maths 59%

 

Fakenham Academy Norfolk students off to Cambridge

Three students from Fakenham Academy Norfolk have been accepted into Cambridge University after achieving top A-Level results. Ellen Berry, Jordan Osborn and Henry Tidd represent an extremely impressive haul of overall A-Level results this year from the academy.

GCSE results: Big day for 1,300 students across the TEN Group

The hard work of almost 1,300 students and their teachers across the TEN Group was rewarded today as students from each academy and college were handed their GCSE results.

Despite national predictions of greater volatility in results this year following changes to the exams system, the results from the academies in the TEN Group showed a general picture of stability with continued improvement in many areas.

Cavell GOGODragon Visits WAN

We are very pleased to have Cavell GOGO Dragon with us at Wayland Academy for a few days. The Dragon is based in Reception and will be used to launch our GOGODragon campaign with Year 6. The dragon is called Cavell and was produced for the Norfolk Show and is the same as the dragon that we will be sponsoring in the next academic year.

GoGoDragon2015 is a GO!!

We are very please to announce that Wayland Academy Norfolk will be a sponsor of a Go Go Dragon in Norwich in 2015. For those of you that saw GoGoGorilla last summer it will be a similar arrangement. Our Dragon will be 5ft tall and feature a design and have a name given by a child from somewhere within Wayland.
